From Isaiah 33:6, we learn that the fear of the LORD is a great treasure to God’s people.

It is not something negative, oppressive, something that has to do with affliction or done out of slavish bondage. God is able to open His blessings as a result of the fear of the LORD. Actually, the fear of God is the pathway to the blessing for the believer.

The fear of the LORD means to reverence Him and our reverence will show by how we how we relate with Him. It means to acknowledge God’s sovereignty over our lives. It is loving submission to God’s right over our lives; His right over our choices and plans. Our relationship with God is based on love and to be honest, God is only asking for what really truly belongs to Him.

Scripture shows us that the windows of heaven over our lives comes as a direct result of the fear of God.  If we fear God, the eye of the LORD will be upon us, just as it was upon those in the Bible, including Mordecai and Ruth. We can see so many blessings that God gives those that fear Him like His covering, mercy, sustenance, wisdom, long life.

By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches. There is a permanent full stop to the brainwashing of the devil about fearing the LORD, for he knows the blessing, the goodness, the treasure that comes when people fear the LORD.

“The Lord gave the word: great was the
company of those that published it.”

~ Psalm 68:11
